What Is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a method of paint application that uses a dry powder as opposed to convention liquid solvents. It’s applied via electrostatic spray and then cured with heat or UV light.

The Pre-Powder Coating Preparation Process

Unless you are providing brand new materials for us to coat, the materials you currently have will most likely contain rust, grease, or a previous coating of some kind. FMM pretreats your material by removing the previous coating, de-rusting, and degreasing it. You can find the full list of pre-powder coating preparation processes below.

Through this pretreatment process, we guarantee the entire surface area of your material is coated evenly and securely with our powder coating. This helps to further prevent any future chipping or wear.

Acceptable Order Types for Powder Coating

FMM accepts a number of order types for the powder coating treatment. Prototypes, low volume orders, high volume orders, and blanket orders are all accepted and treated equally.
